The Glow

It's easy to imagine what you have never seen, but it's near impossible to know how it will make you feel.

The Friday before Labor Day I swung by the shop and rented up a Hasselblad XPAN II. I used to dream about owning this camera years ago. It was so gratifying to finally hold it in my hands. The plan was to use it with a roll of Agfa Ultra (my friend gave me a pack that had been in her refrigerator for many years).  I spent the rest of the day researching the XPAN II in preparation for the next couple days of shooting.

On Saturday at 4:45 AM the adventure began. I along with my good friend Rachael, her boyfriend Daniel, and her friend Ashley hopped in the car and made our way up to Mammoth. A couple stops and dozens of 90s songs later we cruised into Mammoth. We grabbed some lunch and made our way to the Twin Falls Overlook and Twin Lakes. The next day we made our way to Yosemite National Park.

Being there felt like stealing a minute out of time. The sun lazily hung in the morning sky, I looked around. I felt the warmth of the sun on my skin, I felt it shine in my mind. It's easy to imagine what you have never seen, but it's near impossible to know how it will make you feel.
